International Telecommunications Synchronisation Forum (ITSF) 6th International Telecom Sync Forum
Horsebridge Network Systems will be present as a Gold Sponsor at this year's International Telecommunications Synchronisation Forum (www.telecom-sync.com) in Munich from the 4th - 6th of November. Should you be attending the event representatives from Horsebridge would be delighted to meet with you on our stand and take the opportunity to share our ideas, “NGN” technology and experience in today's market.
The ITSF 2008 will look at the full range of synchronisation related topics from the basics through to future technology developments, with a strong focus on practical applications and product-driven papers.
With packet based technologies, encroaching on the traditional TDM core, edge and near edge network synchronisation is becoming a hot topic for Network Operators. New and legacy technologies are imposing demanding requirements on synchronisation delivery at the edge, not least upon the commercial model. With new concepts and technologies, constantly evolving Horsebridges view is to embrace all possible solutions.
Our market place is constantly evolving and to serve our customers we must understand their business drivers to be able to offer appropriate solutions. Our ethos is to save our clients operational expense and increase the quality of the services they are able to offer.
If on this occasion you are not available to attend the ITSF event to meet with us, we would be delighted to meet with you at an alternative date to suit your schedule in the near future.
SARIAN BRINGS BUSINESS CONTINUITY TO THE TOP OF THE ENTERPRISE AGENDA WITH ADVANCED MODULAR ROUTER LAUNCH
01 October, 2008
Advanced routing company Sarian Systems, a Digi International Inc (NASDAQ:DGII) company, today announced the launch of its new WR-41 enterprise router range, designed for mobile communications across a wide variety of sectors, including retail, lottery and finance.
Compatible with all existing mobile networks including new high-speed packet access (HSPA) networks, Sarian’s third generation WR-41 series router is the company’s most advanced cellular offering to date, providing a more customised and flexible approach to support a wealth of business specific applications.
Sarian’s WR series benefits from substantially improved uplink data transfer rates – including 7.2Mbps downlink and 2.0Mbps uplink when using the product’s HSUPA option – making it ideal for businesses looking for a flexible backup solution to fixed broadband connections. It allows users to send larger volumes of data at speeds far greater than previously possible over mobile networks, offering business continuity at an affordable cost. Sarian’s simple to deploy, minimally invasive device is able to detect both physical fixed-line failure and routing failures in the network itself, automatically taking over from an existing broadband router to prevent downtime for users.
“There is now a significant market need for ADSL backup, given that enterprises are increasingly relying upon broadband for most of their communication,” said Arun Nirmal, senior research analyst at Frost & Sullivan. “Enterprises cannot afford to be cut off, and need to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and a consistent stream of revenue. Sarian’s WR-41 represents a reliable continuity plan, allowing enterprises to utilise high-speed mobile networks in the event of a fixed-line problem and most importantly, to continue conducting business efficiently.”
With optional 2GB internal storage, Sarian’s WR-41 range is well-suited for organisations reliant on real-time telemetry applications to gather data from remote sites. Such flexibility ensures that critical data is stored locally on the internal memory in addition to being transmitted back to a central location. This prevents any data from being lost in the event of mobile network issues. Additional available modules include a 50 channel GPS receiver already prepared for the upcoming European GPS system – Galileo. The remarkable sensitivity of this module makes it ideal for asset tracking and vehicle applications such as geofencing as it can even receive signals indoors and under bridges. The WR-41’s internal software enables it to send notification alerts by SMS or email should the router leave its set boundaries – a valuable feature for the telematics market.
“The WR-41 series is perfect for any market requiring the secure transmission of critical business data – from retail and lottery to telemetry and CCTV surveillance – offering versatility, reliability and local intelligence,” said Duncan Ellison, business development director for Digi International. “As our third generation product, the WR-41 range has the benefit of Sarian’s technical skills, routing knowledge and software expertise developed over the last six years in the cellular router market making it the most advanced and evolved product in our portfolio.” The WR-41 series is compatible with HSPA, 3G, GPRS, EDGE and CDMA mobile networks, while as with previous Sarian products it contains a number of unique security and redundancy features. These include dual SIM card slots to provide automatic failover in the event of mobile coverage issues and the ability to simultaneously transmit data while monitoring / controlling real-time router performance, so that data transfer is not interrupted.
The WR-41 series routers are now available from Horsebridge as a valuable addition to its Core and Access Network Product portfolio.
“The WR-41 is a valuable addition to the range of products Sarian provides to our Core and Access Network Portfolio” said Geoff Smith, Senior Partner, Horsebridge. “We provide the Sarian range as a stand directly to our customers but they also form a key part in many solutions we deploy for network management and data communications, overcoming the restrictions of relying on fixed line carrier and ISP services providing greater flexibility and reduced time to deploy.”
