Fibre Optic and Copper Modems
Both copper and optical Fibre modems are available in the marketplace. We offer both copper and optical Fibre modems, applicable in all the major areas of use. Reliable communication for high data volumes across large distances is only possible via optical Fibre lines. Nowadays, optical Fibre modems are considered key components of Fibre optic transmission systems.

Most of our products are inherently capable of single mode and multimode operation. Standard modems are available as RS232, RS422, RS485-2W, RS485-4W, E1, T1, DS1, E2, E3, X.21, Ethernet 10BaseT and 100BaseT.

Fibre Optic Converters
The converter is a solution for the conversion of electrical signals into optical signals, thus enabling a copper network to be connected with optical Fibre systems also. Interface converters are used in copper-based networks for the conversion of electrical signals from one standard into the other. The application of this solution is necessary for proper connections of networks of various topologies and components.

Depending on local conditions, data transmissions are possible across distances of 20 km or more. The solution is equipped with standard interfaces (e.g. Ethernet, RS485, RS422, RS232).

The MACS 4000 System enables the user to design its own Multi Access Connectivity System by using different modem or converter cards. The various options of using copper or Fibre optic modems and converters or media converters and the modularity of these cards fulfill nearly all demands of a high end application.

The universal Pandatel MACS4000 system enables the installation of various Pandatel rack cards into the same rack and is also capable to take some of Pandatel´s Access Multiplexer.

Using VT100, Telnet or SNMP to access the management simplifies it for every network administrator to integrate the new MACS4000 system in an existing environment.

Future software updates via VT100 or FTP make the system easy to maintain and give a high investment security. Services like bandwidth limitation or the possibility to monitor the temperature, data transport or power supply of the local and remote rack offer for example carriers a perfect solution to sell services and to manage a network from a central point..

With the new web-based graphical user interface MACS View Pandatel offers an easy and comfortable to use configuration and monitoring tool which shows the stati and signals of the whole system. As well cards from Pandatel´s old System 2100 can be integrated in this new platform
by using a sub management agent.

FH/FL-E E3/T3 Fibre Optic Modem
Multimode or Singlemode E3/T3 Fibre-optic modems

The E3/T3-type Fibre-optic modems FH-E and FL-E are used for the bi-directional conversion of signals transmitted from E3/T3 interfaces to optical Fibre.

An important advantage of this solution is the possibility of transparent data transmission that allows for the flexible and coherent utilization of the specific devices involved in the process.

The application of optical Fibre ensures high reliability, galvanic separation of the particular connected devices and large capacities of transmission routes.

When an optional WDM Fibre doubler is used, the capacity values increase significantly since data is received and transferred through only a single Fibre.

FH/FL-P E1/T1 Fibre Optic Modem
Managed E1/T1 Transmission via Fibre Optic

Efficient solution, with all the advantages of optical Fibre technology applied for high-performance (high-rate) data transmission. The application of E1/T1 Fibre-optic modems provides for the security and reliability of data flows executed via telephone systems or routers over large distances.

Due to its transparency the FH/FL-P supports G.703- (E1), V., X. interface types, as well as BRI (ISDN So)-, HDSL and 10BaseT interfaces.

The Fibre-optic side is compatible with multimode or singlemode Fibres. The solution is specifically recommended for LED or laser systems. According to the selected types of connectors used at the optical Fibre end, E1/T1 Fibre-optic modems may operate in various, flexible functional ranges. The use of an optional WDM Fibre doubler is improvements to cable capacities as different wavelengths are received and transferred along a single optical Fibre.

Probot 3005 Fibre Optic Modem

The 3005 OLTE provides a highly reliable and cost effective communication link via fibre for transmitting either E1/E2 or T1/T2 traffic. The E1/E2 channels comply with the ITU G703 standard, using HDB3 coding.

The internal PCB is designed in a modular fashion and can be integrated into the 800 Series as a 3U rack mount version.

All modems can be configured with 850nm multi mode optics or with 1300nm single mode/multi mode. All units are supplied with unbalanced and balanced input/output connectors. Comprehensive status alarms are provided on the front panel with the facility of remoting alarms and controls via a 9 pin “D” connector.

Local and remote loopback can be configured from switches on the front panel.With an optical budget of 12dB to 14dB this series of modem is ideal for cross-site/campus style environments and Telco transmission systems.

SNMP management can be implemented when used in conjunction with a rack system (800 series). When used in conjunction with a 3006 modem, protocol conversion from G703 to X21 across the link can be achieved, thus saving the need for external converters.

The 3005 Series provides end users with a cost effective as well as highly reliable system.

Probot 3006 Fibre Optic Modem

The 3006 OLTE provides a highly reliable and cost effective communication link via fibre for transmitting either X21 or RS530 (reduced) from dc to 8.448Mb/s. The 3006 supports a number of clocking options including internal and externally generated clocks.

All modems can be configured with 850nm multi mode optics or with 1300nm single mode/multi mode.

Traffic interface is provided by a 15 pin D type connector. Comprehensive status is provided on the front panel with the facility remoting alarms via a 9 way D type connector (voltage free relays). Front panel switches allow a comprehensive range of operating and diagnostic features to be selected.

With an optical budget of 12dB to 14dB this series of modem is ideal for cross-site/campus style environments and Telco transmission systems.

SNMP management can be implemented when used in conjunction with a rack system (800 series). When used in conjunction with a 3005 modem, protocol conversion from G703 to X21 or RS 530 across the link can be achieved (at E1/E2 or T1/T2 speeds), thus saving the need for external converters.

The 3006 Series provides end users with a cost effective as well as highly reliable system.

Probot 3007 E3 Fibre Optic Modem

The 3007 is a second generation development of the well established 3005 E1/E2 modem and provides high reliability in a rugged unit. The 3007 OLTE provides a highly reliable and cost effective communication link via fibre for transmitting E3 G703. The E3 channels comply with the ITU G703 standard, using HDB3 coding.

The 3007 rack version can be integrated into the 800 Series rack.

All units are supplied with unbalanced input/output connectors (BNC 75 ohm).

Comprehensive status is provided on the front panel with the facility to remote alarms via a 9 pin ‘D' type connector mounted on the rear panel.

Local and remote loopback can be configured from switches on the front panel.

With a range of up to 70km, the 3007 provides the user with a compact, cost effective approach to inter and intra-site communications.

Probot 800 Series Rack Mount Solution

The system is designed in a modular fashion so that it can communicate from rack to rack or rack to standalone versions (3000 Series).

Generally modems can be configured with 850nm multimode optics or with 1300nm single mode.

The rack can house up to 8 channel cards and 2 load sharing power supplies.

Comprehensive status alarms are provided on the front panels with the facility of remoting alarms and controls via a 9 pin “D” connector.

SNMP management can be provided on the E1/E2 and X21 links only. Local and remote loopback can be configured from switches on the front panel of the unit. With an optical budget of 12dB to 14dB on multimode fibres this series of
modems is ideal for cross-site/campus style environments and telco transmission systems. These products provide the end user with a cost effective and highly reliable system. For other card variants such as voice cards please contact the factory. Protocol conversion from E1/E2 G703 to X21 across the link can be achieved, thus saving the need for expensive external convertors.
