Horsebridge provides copper and Fibre optic modems, converters and multiplexers for industry and governments around the world. The technologies that we offer includes Ethernet/Fast Ethernet; Frame Relay; E1/T1; E3/T3; broadband transmission (SDH/SONET), Fibre optics, and SNMP management. The depth and breadth of Horsebridge's capabilities enable the company to provide standards-based, innovative products with incomparable flexibility support for multiple service offerings.
Fibre Optic Multiplexers
Numerous optical signals may be bundled by optical multiplexers and then transmitted to the remote unit via a single optical Fibre pair. At remote site, data will be re-formatted to the original version by a de-multiplexer. This methodology provides a simultaneous transmission of a number of diverse applications via one optical Fibre (without this solution, typically four or more lines would be used).
Depending on the applicable and relevant requirements, a number of separate multiplexing solutions have been developed accordingly.
Typical Applications and Solution Areas
Our products are appropriate for the fullest range of applications and have been utilised for solutions in a range of areas including:-
- SAN systems (Storage Area Networks)
- Metro Access
- Data Transmission / Conversion
- Transportation and traffic management
- Logistics
- Broadcast
- Military
EMUX-G Optical 16-channel Multiplexer
The demand for leased line bandwidth is increasing and therefore the E3
interface becomes common in SDH networks. For an efficient use of this
interface Horsebridge offers Pandatels EMUX-G E3 multiplexer which breaks down the E3
interface to 16 structured / unstructured G.703 E1/T1 channels.With its
modular design on the line side the unit is easy to adapt to the existing
SDH network.
Besides its E3 copper interface module the EMUX-G offers a second line
port being able to accommodate another copper or even a Fibre optic
module. On copper interfaces the line coding follows the ITU standards
and is fully compatible with any SDH equipment using the same standard.
Even in point-to-point applications with Fibre optic link the unit can cover
distances up to 90 km on Fibre optic cables without any regeneration.
On the interface side the unit is equipped with 16 structured / unstructured
G.703 E1/T1 interfaces which allow the use of the link in portions of n x 64
Kbps. In combination with the E1/T1 multiplexer INAX it becomes possible
to share one E1/T1 port with several applications.
Together with the VT100 management the EMUX-G has an integrated
SNMP agent which is outband accessible via SLIP/PPP or 10BaseT /
100BaseTx (optional). The inband access via one 64K timeslot of the E3
link or of each E1/T1 port is also possible. The EMUX-G is a rack
mountable 19” standalone unit with optional redundant power supply.
Features:
- Modular E3 link E3 34.368 Mbps
Coax cable 75 ohms
(BNC)
- Optional FO Link I/F
850 or 1300 nm MM
1300 or 1550 nm SM
- 16 interface ports:
G.703 E1/T1
- Integrated SNMP
agent accessible via
10BaseT/100BaseTx,
SLIP/PPP or inband
- Redundant power
supply
- 19” rack mountable
standalone unit

EMUX-M21 E3/T3 (DS-3) Access Multiplexer
Cost-effective E3/T3 Access Multiplexer to connect Company Networks to Metro Area Networks
The EMUX-M21 is a cost-effective 21-channel E1/T1 (DS-1) to E3/T3 (DS-3) Fi-ber Optic Multiplexer. It can be deployed in a simple point-to-point applicationas well as being utilized as a link to a backbone or for Metrocore rings.
The EMUX-M21 multiplexes E1/T1 (DS-1) data from last mile devices and fromnetworks into a single copper or Fibre optic line for transmission.
The EMUX-M21 can bundle up to 21 x E1/T1 (DS-1) user interfaces into one E3or T3 (DS-3) copper or Fibre optic channel. For application requiring lineredundancy, an additional copper or Fibre optic line port can be specified.
Thanks to its management system, the EMUX-M21 can be integrated intoexisting environments. It is accessible via VT100 or Telnet and an integratedEthernet SNMP agent enables centralized configuration of all device settings. Also at a distance the EMUX-M21 can be controlled via a remote managementconnection.
Features:
- Access Multiplexer for E3 and T3 (DS-3) speeds via Copper or Fibre Optic on the line
- Data rate for up to 21 x E1/T1 (DS-1) (2.048 Mbps/1.544 Mbps)
- VT100, Telnet and SNMP Management
- Redundant AC or DC power supply
- Compact 19”, 2U design

Probot 3004 Fibre Optic Multiplexer
The 3004 optical line termination equipment (OLTE) operates over multi mode or single mode fibre. The multiplexers are designed to transmit 4 independent channels of 2.048Mb/s G703(E1) or 4 channels of 1.544Mb/s T1 traffic. If an E2 8.448Mb/s or T2 6.312Mb/s signal is applied to channel one the units will automatically transmit this signal, switching off the other 3 channels. E1/E2 is HDB3 compatible and T1/T2 operation can be configured for AMI or B8ZS coded data.
A third version of the 3004 will transmit 4 channels of Nx64kb/s (X21) data up to a maximum speed on each independent channel of 2.048Mb/s. The Nx64kb/s units operate from internal or external clock and can be configured for DCE or DTE operation.
Two multimode fibres 50/125µ or 62.5/125µ operating at 850nm or 1300nm wavelength will provide transmission up to 5km, and single mode 9/125µ fibre operating at 1300nm wavelength will provide transmission up to 30km.
A built in management system is used for set up and monitoring of the complete link with the LCD display and control button built into the 3004. Dynamic local and remote end monitoring, self test with local and remote end loopbacks is also provided.
The fully independent circuits provided by the 3004 can be used for any 2Mbps leased line application such as ATM, SDH, PABX to PABX connection, Codec, ISDN and bandwidth on demand applications over the Nx64kbps version
Features:
- 4 channels E1 2.048Mb/s or T1 1.544Mb/s
- Automatic switches to E2 8.448Mb/s / T2 6.312Mb/s
- Option 4 channels Nx64kbs (X21) up to 2.048Mb/s interface
- Comprehensive local/remote management
