Carrier Ethernet Services
The efficient way to deploy high bandwidth data services The demand for high-speed broadband services among businesses and residential subscribers is steadily increasing.
The variety of services includes business applications such as e-commerce, storage, VoIP, video conferencing and virtual presence, as well as residential broadband services like triple play (voice, video and data), Video-on-Demand (VoD), IPTV and other TV services.
This demand creates a need for metro area networks capable of deploying these high bandwidth data-centric services. Carrier Ethernet – with the economies of scale needed to cost effectively support these new services – is the ideal technology for implementing such networks.
Horsebridge’s Carrier Ethernet switch/router (CESR) product line, offers a complete end-to-end solution for metro area Ethernet networks. This includes two product types: the 9700 Series and the 9200 Series.
The 9700 series was designed to meet the requirements of metropolitan core networks where density, performance and quality-of-service are critical.
The 9200 series targets the edge of the metropolitan network, where cost optimization, form factor and service aggregation really count. The 9000 Family meets the strict demand of service providers for a carrier-grade solution that includes scalability, resiliency, high availability, redundancy, security and the capability to support traditional services like TDM over Ethernet.
The 9000 Family also supports a variety of industry protocols and standards, including a complete set of IP and MPLS protocols, BFD, Ethernet OAM (e.g. 802.1ag) and more.
