For decades legacy PSTN technology offered highly reliable Telephony Services. However, it has become increasingly difficult to maintain margins due to the challenging combination of rising operational costs and the drop in voice revenues due to competition.
Meanwhile, broadband access networks are becoming widely deployed. An important step towards network consolidation is the adoption of the emerging Next Generation Network architecture (NGN).
Next Generation voice is a concept built upon a set of standards (IMS for mobile and ETSI-TISPAN for fix) that supports a new way of providing switched voice and new multimedia services over IP networks.
This new ETSI TISPAN/IMS architecture offers carriers an opportunity to regain lost revenues, increase competitiveness and reduce expenditures. These voice services are called VoBB/VoIP, also referred to as voice simulation and/or POTS/ISDN,also referred to as voice emulation.
Horsebridge's entire product portfolio works in concert to provide a complete solution for voice applications, tied together by ECI's 1Net architectural framework. The solution consists of MSAN (Multi Services Access Node), which is an IP-DSLAM with voice capabilities that supports both xDSL flavors and GPON topology. For the metro and Broadband network segments, our MSPP range is ideal for MSAN aggregation. Our CESR products completes the build-out of a carrier grade network and introduces a proven state-of-the art offer for an end-to-end solution.
