From Mobile Voice to Total Communication Provider
Service revenue growth challenges faced by mobile operators in emerging markets differ significantly from those faced by operators in developed regions. While in emerging markets revenue growth comes from customer growth, developed market revenue growth comes from increased usage. In both cases operators are looking for infrastructure that will be able to scale without a high relative increase in OPEX and CAPEX.
Driven by the goal of increased revenues, many mobile operators are looking to leverage their networks to offer additional non-mobile services; either for the business community, for other carriers or even directly to residential users.
Mobile operators therefore need a solution that is flexible and scalable in size and services to accommodate both the capacity growth and the increased diversity of the used protocols and in the provided services.
